Birds of San Diego

During a Thanksgiving spent in Southern California, I had the luck to photograph a large variety of hummingbirds and pelicans (here are a few which I'm putting up early to represent the breadth I'll be posting to AP. More will be posted later)

This pelican shows color, contrast, movement, and rhythem.

This hummingbird shows unity, contrast, color, and movement.

Fall Photoshoot

On a beautiful fall day, a close friend agreed to pose amongst the trees and leaves

There is emphasis of unity, contrast, and color throughout

Chalk Drawings

For this assignment the students in both AP and Honors art were asked to group up and work together on a famous art piece. My partners and I decided to work on a zoomed in version if Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" with pastels and chalk. We first gridded out the piece and sketched in the contour using white. Each class day we worked on blending and adding detail until the piece was finished. You can see value, texture, and movement through this piece.

Zoo

Just as last year, the San Francisco Zoo came to present animals for the NAHS for a day. This year they chose to bring a hedgehog, an armadillo, and a ball python. You can clearly see texture, movement, and color.

Best ATC

The Artist Trading cards have become one of my favorite projects because it allows me to incorporate my photography. This year I changed things up by incorporating a song on the back of each one which I thought would pair up well. Through apps such as Photoshop Effects, Color Splash, and Photoforge2, I created this collection showing large aspects of nature, color, pattern, movement, and unity.

Cooperate Identity

This piece shows my logo in action. Through products such as business cards, calendars, note pads, and postcards, my logo can show my work. I worked on these through the Photoshop Express app. You can see unity, color, contrast, and pattern in each of these pieces.

Logo

This logo was created by isolating the peacock in my photo, upping the contrast, and taking out the background. The CKP stands for Charlotte Kyle Photography.   You can see elements such as contrast, unity, and texture.

Memory Book

This memory book captures a handful of my most memorable photoshoots within the last year. Mixed media was used such as watercolor paint, photography, and magazine clippings. You can see elements such as principles such as color, unity, and contrast.

I used my own photographs with the kaleidoscope effect multiple times through PhotoForge2
